R. Gordon “Russ” Foster, CMBS Founder and Inventor of System Baseball

Russ Foster started the Cincinnati Mason Baseball School nearly 30 years ago and has taught over 29,000 students in his career. In addition to 256 college athletes and 9 Major League Baseball players, Russ has taught thousands of boys and girls how to play and enjoy baseball.

Based on the experience of a lifetime professional sports including his career in the NFL and as a pro pitcher, Russ created the System Baseball approach to teaching. Through an extensive process of research, body movement analysis and instructional design, Russ has created a highly successful teaching method that enables the student to focus on each body part, one part at a time, as they execute the proper mechanics of throwing, hitting, fielding and base-running.

“The System” method allows each student to progress at their own pace and makes baseball and learning fun and engaging while helping kids develop mental toughness and enhance tactical thinking skills.
